Note from the Director

NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR:

Hello all!
We are still on Winter Break, but are taking online registrations & phone calls. There's a discount until January 4, 2021.
Classes will resume on January 4, 2021. Remember, we have two locations - Moody Park and Spott's Park. Classes are held outside [due to Covid-19}.
In our Children's classes we have classes in ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop; competitive team, youth performing troupe, and more!
Our Teen/Adult classes we offer a beginning ballet class + Fitness classes.
In addition to the above - we have a Spring Showcase {see website for the info}.
So, out with 2020 and in with 2021!!!

Join DE-SPSB in supporting Breast Cancer Awareness for the month of October. DE-SPSB also will partner with Stitches and Such and their ‘pink ribbons’. Stitches and Such makes a pink crochet ribbon. Show your support for Breast Cancer by ordering a pink ribbon just for $10.00.
Proceeds will go towards Breast Cancer Awareness.

 As the Artistic Director, I am giving all Louisiana residents who lost their homes FREE DANCE CLASSES {and Fitness} until December 16, 2020.

Financial Aid for Dance



Dear Parents,

Sur Les Pointes School of Ballet makes every effort to award financial aid when circumstances require it. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to enjoy the wide ranging physical and emotional health benefits dancing offers.  SPSB staff reviews each application in confidence and makes award decisions based on the information you provide in this application.
Scholarship applications must be received no later than 3 weeks before the beginning of the session by email or fax. Please note that all scholarship applications require submission of the first page of the parents’ most recent 1040 US Tax Form, showing Adjusted Gross Income (AGI). Scholarship decisions cannot be made without the required tax information.

COVID-19 GUIDLELINES FOR DANCE

Sur Les Pointes School of Ballet will be implementing guidelines for dance this Summer and into the Fall. All students and teachers must abide by all guidelines for keeping everyone safe and healthy.

All parents will drop off their child and pick up after class.
Parents will not be allowed to watch class.

#1 All students must sanitize their hands. Students will enter into the classroom and sit in a circle. Then with their teacher, everyone will sanitize their hands as a group.

#2 All students are to remain 6 ft apart from each other. There will be circles drawn on  the floor noting their spot.

#3 If you must cough or sneeze into a kleenex or your arm.

#4 Screening processs
~Have you run a fever in the last two week
~Do you have a cough or breathing problems?
~Have you had increased fatigue?
~Have you been traveling or around people outside?

#5 Masks are not required, as they could make the dancer hard to breath when excerting energy.

Studio Spacing -- Barre:
#1 At the barre, students stand at least 6 feet apart and maybe on opposite sides of the barre {if applicable}
#2 Wiping down the barre before and after each use 

Center Work:
~For stationary center work can your students maintain 8-10 feet distance.

Across the Floor:
~All dancers maintain 13-16 feet between individuals who are running behind each other

Lastly, if you are sick, please stay home.
